Because every new roof is a big investment and needs to protect your home as well as deliver a worry-free roof, reliable roofing materials and workmanship for the long term. It pays to ask questions of all roofing installers before commiting to any one particular company.

Even the best quality roofing materials are only as good as your roofing installer.

Any credible roofing professionals welcome the opportunity to answer any of your roofing questions and should be happy to give you as much information as you need to determine how your roofing project will go.

First

You may know what roofing material you want to use, but it may be wise to get recommendations from the roofing companies that you choose to have quote your project. When you are choosing roofing  materials, your local roofing contractor can give you recommendations based on your regional climate conditions, sustainability, energy efficiency, style preferences and even how long you plan to stay in your home.

ASK QUESTIONS:

  • How long has this roofer been in business?

  • Are your potential roofers licensed, bonded and insured?

  • What kind of practical experience do they have?

  • Can these roofers provide at least three project examples and references from roofing jobs that they have completed in the recent past.

  • What is the brand/manufacturer that they use?

  • How do they protect your property and landscaping during the roof replacement?

  • What kind of product / installation warranties do they offer and are they transferrable?

  • Should you have an issue with their roofing product and/or installation, who should you contact?

  • Insist on cost estimates, schedules and other agreements in writing.

  • How do you train your roofers?
